A network of weekly volunteering groups for students:
- Serve with other McMaster students at placements across Hamilton
- Learn about and help address inner-city issues
- Discuss your volunteer experiences
- Make a significant difference where it is needed
- Gain valuable experience
Each week your group facilitator helps you find your way to the placement and also facilitates discussion of your volunteer experiences for 20-30 min. at the end of your service experience.

How Do I Get Involved?
Volunteer Fair
Sign up for Volunteer Groups at our Volunteer Fair:
- Wednesday, January 8, 5:30-7:00pm
Step 1: Register for the Volunteer Fair
- Fill out the Registration Form (new window).
- You will receive information about how to attend the fair.
Step 2: Prepare your Forms
- Fill out the CVC Volunteer Application Form before attending the Virtual Volunteer Fair. Completing this form before the fair is the mandatory first step to join a CVC weekly volunteer group. Please note: submitting this form DOES NOT register you for a spot in a volunteer group (you must also visit the fair).
- Register on the Open Circle Club Membership Form.
- Download the CVC Volunteer Contract, print, sign, and take a photo. You will be asked to upload your signed contract at the fair when you join a Volunteer Group.
- Bring your schedule and information about a recent police check (if you have one) to the fair.
- View the list of Volunteer Placements and Times and decide which ones fit your schedule. At the fair, you will have the opportunity to talk with the facilitators of the placements you’re interested in.
Step 3: Attend the Volunteer Fair
- Visit the fair on January 8 between 5:30 and 7pm
- Rank your top 3 volunteer group choices that fit your schedule
- At the fair, you will have the chance to ask questions of the group facilitators before signing up for a group
